Application Requirements

Business Visa Application Requirements1 

         1.  Two application forms (obtained from the Embassy or Consulate General) properly filled in, with full physical   address and telephone numbers for place of accommodation in Malawi

         2.  A valid passport with at least 6 months from the date of departure (with enough empty visa pages)

         3.  Invitation letter from Malawi if going o business or visiting relatives

         4.  Copy of Front page of Passport and Business Residence Permit (B.R.P) of the inviter (If Malawian, just the front page of passport)

         5.  Two passport size photographs.

         6.  Finalised itinerary /Flight details (Round trip).

         7.  Visa application fee of 800 RMB (non-refundable) 

       Tourist Visa Application Requirements

1.  Two application forms (obtained from the Embassy or Consulate General) properly filled in, with full physical address and telephone numbers for place of accommodation in Malawi

2.  A valid passport with at least 6 months from the date of departure (with enough empty visa pages)

3.  Bank statement, covering a period of 6 months to current date

4.  Hotel booking.

5.  Two passport size photographs.

6.  Finalised itinerary /Flight details (Round trip).

7.  Visa application fee of 800 RMB (non-refundable)

Download form by clicking here or pick up form at the Embassy of the Republic of Malawi to the Peoples Republic of China  in Beijing or the Consulate General of the Republic of Malawi in Changsha premises.

Visa Processing Duration

a- Business Visa processing period is 7 working days

b- Tourist Visa processing period is 5 working days.

c- Application Submission and Visa Collection Time: 9:30 a.m.-11:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.; Monday to Thursday
