About the Consulate General
The Consulate General of the Republic of Malawi in Changsha was officially opened by His excellency Dr. Lazarus McCarthy Chakwera, President of the Republic of Malawi on 29th June 2023
The Consulate General of the Republic of Malawi in Changsha is located in Furong District, Changsha City, Hunan Province. The mandate is to enhance development diplomacy by promoting and protecting Malawi's social and economic interests. The Consulate General promotes the development of tourism, trade and investment relations between Malawi and Hunan Province and the surrounding provinces and to promote friendly relations in other aspects between the two countries including provision of consular services to Malawian residents in or visiting the PRC in Hunan and surrounding provinces. The Consulate General covers Hunan, Fujian, Jiangxi, Hubei, Guangdong, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Chongqing and Sichuan provinces in the People’s Republic of China.
