Biography of Mr Harris Stuarts Potani, Consul General
Mr Harris Stuarts Burroughes Potani, Consul General holds a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Public Administration from the University of Malawi obtained in 1992 and a Master’s in Public Administration from University of Fort Hare, South Africa obtained in 2011. He has over 31 years’ experience working in the public sector and 25 five years at senior management level. He once worked as a District Commissioner both during the one-party rule in Malawi and during the multi-party dispensation. Later moved into election administration where he rose up to the position of Deputy Chief Elections responsible for Operations up to September 2024 when he took up the position of Consul General for the Consulate General of the Republic of Malawi in Changsha. He is an accomplished training facilitator and has been consulting as part time for over 16 years in the North-Eastern, Southern and Central African regions. In 2016 and 2017, he was appointed a member for a Special Electoral Law Reform Commissioner in Malawi.
